whats the mileage range l should look for so l can still get a few good years out of it? how high is too high for a 2001?
thanks in advance!

tough question to answer, in theory, u can expect to get 300.000 plus miles out of this car even though it is a ''low end'' Lexus ,providing that the vehicle is taken care of & the scheduled maintenance is kept up. This is the factor that is unknown when buying any used car. l would not look for one with more than 125,000 on it & hope that it was not abused. 150,000 would be the max if it was a great deal. a 7 year old car should have about 105,000 miles given the average of 15,000 miles a year driven theory.

Theoretically, u can own a car & drive it forever, if u continue to replace everything that it breaks. but of course, that is not real life. Although a Lexus is much better in reliability than most, once u hit the 100K mile mark, it is all up for grabs as to what might or might not break.

l would say if u can get something for under 50K, u will get trouble free use for atleast 50-70K, & then u will start seeing little things here & there go.

As for 2001, I'd say if u do ''average'' use of 12K/year, then 80-90K would be average, with 120K being excessive. Also to consider, l am pretty sure that the 100K mile maintenance is the major one with timing belts, probably tires, all fluids, etc. so think about that when u check mileage out.

Good luck.

take car of it and it will last you over 350k miles. too many people are careless when it comes to cars. you have nobody but yourself to blame if something goes bad on these cars. do the maintanance. enjoy the car.

No more than 200K. Those cars really last if well taken care of. You can call any Lexus dealer and get the service history, if you have the VIN. Good luck!!
