Hey, l heard that some cars have better MPG when they actually use higher grade of fuel, well l am not sure what gas l should use. My car manual does not say anything about it, andl also was wondering if 1992 engine in my Lexus can benefit from higher grade fuel, or its just wasting of money and l should stick with regular gas???

just stick to normal unleaded fuel as the higher octane has little or no significance for your model.

l have used regular unleaded in all my Lexus models and have had no noticeable decrease in performance. Since your model does not specify a grade using regular will save you money. The higher grades of gasoline will not provide better noticeable performance.

87 octane is recommended by Lexus. You should use what the manufacturer recommends. If your car requires 87 octane but you use 85, it will retard the timing of the engine, resulting in diminished performance and economy. It is not necessary, however, to use higher octane gas than what is recommended. Although it wo not harm the engine, any minimal increase in fuel economy will be offset by the higher price of fuel.

regular should be fine in most case. If not, then you will need to move up a grade. How can you tell? Listen to your engine. if it start to knock, then you would need to move up (or find different gas station)

It prefers regular but you can use premium. Change the spark plugs and buy regular. the sparks plugs will givem it a kick
