my sister in law lexus is300 wont play cd all the sudden, everything else works. whats happening, is there anything l could do, also how do we reset it? well thanks alot.

If the player is giving an 'Error 4' message when trying to use it. It has to be replaced.

Other than that, contact a service advisor at any Lexus dealer to explain how to reset it.

there is no reset. most likely what happened is the spring in the CD changer mechanism broke. (happened to mine) From time to time when u get the ERROR4 message simply turning it off & on a few times fixed it for me. But eventually it stopped working. A potential fix is open up the head unit & remove the CD that is jammed. The last one that was playing. Then it might work, if u always avoid using that CD slot. If that does not work u will need to replace the headunit. You can find used ones on forums (my.IS, isfanatics.com, clublexus.com) or ebay.
