no, it is electronic ignition.
you'd have to reprogram the computer and reprogram all the tolerances of your sensors

Nope, some cars have new technology that does that, but l do not think any Lexus has it. Just be happy in your SC LS or GS =) l am very happy with my SC400, even if it gets a dismal 18 mpg.

The question is, if is possible, & the answer is yes & is not worth the time & effort. That u can do it with basic home tools? Nope. Beside, u r trying to reinvent the whole thing & is need it some engineering know-how. Anything is possible in this planet, the problem is, how much effort is need it to do it? Might as well & get rid of it & buy a Chevy Impala. That car does the 8 6 4 trick.
My question to u is? Why having a car like that & not be able to afford the fuel?

Nope l dont know what model you have. Other than the GX and LX the Lexus V8 is get pretty good gas milage for a V8
