The dealership changed the remote but the problem is not resolved. The only all day free parking is near some transmission towers - l have problems locking/unlocking the car and starting the car.Although Lexus is not able to repair the key, they are not willing to do anything about it.They say any car would behave similarly, but have not heard of any other cases.l am trying to find out if this is a common occurence and any advice as to what are my options and how l should go about getting some action from Lexus. This type of response and service does not match the Lexus/Toyota high quality reputation. They pride themselves on listening to the Voice of the Customer - l am not even getting a response from their regional customer service representative.

Hi, l live in Hong Kong. Where r u from?

l faced the same problem with u TODAY. l could not lock my door after parking in the office carpark. But l parked in the same carpark for the past 6 months. It is the first time l got trouble with the smart key.

l called the Hong Kong customer service center, their reply is NO WAY to solve the problem but by using the real key to open & close the doors (The L shape Key). And start the engine by holding the key while u press the engine button.

There r other Lexus cars parking in the same place, l wonder r they all facing a same problem???

OK, the first thing u need to do is deal with the dealership that u bought the car from, not the regional CSR. With Lexus, it is a completely different ball game when it comes to problems.if they can fix it, they will fix it correctly & to exactly what the Lexus service manuals & specifications say to do so. It is not that they r not willing to do anything about it, they're just telling u that even if they change the remote, change the ignition module, etc., that it wo not fix the problem. The problem is not Lexus, it is where you're parking the car. They probably have not heard of any other cases because there probably r not many other people in the same situation as you. However, that does not mean that u can not change anything to make this situation better. First, r u trying to unlock the car from a good distance away, or r u right beside it? l know with my Lexus GX l have to hit the button a few times to make things go, but it does not worry me at all. When you're done unlocking the car, do u put the key in ur pocket or leave it in a bag, etc? l had an IS for a loaner & found out that sometimes the car would not start unless l took the key out of my pocket, but all l did was put it in the ashtray & it was great. If u leave it too close to ur cell phone it might not work right, either. That is all l can tell you.Good Luck!
