the lexus IS is a lil more sporty, youthful and the lexus ES is more grown up, both are good cars just pick one tha fits your personality.

Depends on what kind of person you are. The IS is for people who know nothing about cars but want to think they're driving something sporty. The ES is for people who look at a Camry and think ''now, this car is pretty nice, but what l would really love is if it cost fifteen thousand dollars more.''

l think lexus es is better

l was in the same boat, liked the looks of the is but the es was a lot more conferrable both great cars, but im happy with my es, im 19 btw

the IS cus its sportier and faster.

The IS & ES both r great cars, but it will be up to u to decided which one is better for what u r looking for in a vehicle.

Yes as some have mentioned the IS is a smaller vehicle however, it is not in the same class as an ES. The IS is a sport sedan whereas, the ES is a touring sedan. Meaning the IS will be a bit different than the ES. You will be able to feel the road more & have more responsive braking & steering for performance base driving should u choose to drive it that way. Also the IS series has a sport cabin so u will experience a tighter feel in the cabin.

The ES is a touring sedan, it will have a smoother ride & a much roomier cabin. The ES 350 & IS 350 have the same engine but, they r tuned differently one for comfort & one for sport. The also have different suspension system.

My recommendation for u is to go test drive each of them back to back with the radio off. so u can experience the road feel, the steering, braking & the sounds.

Hey brother l picked up my 01 Lexus ES300 6 moths ago & really have gotten the comfortable feeling, l love this car, obviously u know ur heading in the right direction with a Lexus practically no problems in a longer life than a American made car. Its hard for me to say that because l am born raised American. The ES is very sporty, with exceptional class, l am making it a tuner & l would not rather to it to another car, other than a supra, & does get up & go, very comfortable & it was easy to adjust for my Toyota T100 before to the ES. That is about all l can tell u about the ES as an owner, l do know that most of the people l spoken to prefer the IS & l think there r more options for suping it up, but personally l am not one to conform, so l like the one not everyone would normally pick. Good luck to ya, what ever u get just make sure it has everything on it, decked out stock Lexus, its the worst getting a new car & wishing u had something more, Its harder to enjoy.

Depends, the IS is either a 2.5 liter with 204 hp or a 3.5 liter with 306 hp, sports sedan. The steering & suspension is a bit stiffer & overall the car is smaller that the ES. The ES is a 3.5 liter with 272hp.it has a more forgiving suspension & is significantly bigger. For any idiot who says that it is just a Camry, l say that there r two types of people in the world.people who drive them, & people who drive by them..The ES is an entirely different suspension, different frame, different engine, among many other things..Are there similarities in the design, yes, but not even close to being the same car.

the IS is a lovely car. we dont get the ES here in england, but l would be more than happy to recommend the IS. l have an RWD IS250 (the only petrol model we get), automatic, with the multimedia etc. it is very quiet on the motor/highway, & petrol is relatively cheap in the states, so fuel shouldnt be an issue. the seats r really soft & really comfortable, the perfect car for long-distance cruising. a great buy, & different to the mainstream audi's, BMW is & Merc is u normally see
