l have a 1997 lexus es300that l left in my garage for a couple of days because l went on vacation. after l came back, l started the car and it made a few cracking noises and stopped. Whats wrong with the car?

EDIT: Okay here is my serious answer. It could be that your battery is low or dead. It is too cold, hot. Or your engine just want turn over when you turn the key.

It hates life.

open the hood and see if the battery has fallen and shorted out. Sounds like this could have happened. Make sure you're wearing eye and hand protection.

it is telling you that you should have bought a bmw. same price but more reliable.

Try the computer. My father has a '95 Lexus and it did the same thing and so l just removed a blue chip ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF!!!!). Usually the computer has a chip that needs to be removed. that or a sensor got unplugged somewhere..or your transmission died on you. l can not say exactly what is wrong but it usually is the three that l just listed. Your best bet is to tow it to a mechanic.

Was it vandilized check parts of the car and look for damage.

The Battery is dead!!! or no fuel in it..

Most likely the battery, give it a jump or charge the battery. If it wo not jump or charge then replace it.

To refer an old post.. Try to jump start your Lexsucks with a domestic car. l wonder where Mr Sergei is at now :-))

l am pretty much sure the problem is a dead battery. Take it for a load test in Auto Zone and they can tell you for sure. If you car will jump start, is the battery. Make sure also, the battery poles are clean an tight.

Most likely a dead battery... but if it was only a couple of days it should've still started unless u live in subfreezing temperatures.. Usually car baterries need a few weeks to die out.

BTW.. love the hate that Lexus is getting when something this simple goes wrong. When a company is reputation for reliability is SOOO high above all other.. everyone else can not wait for one of these cars to have a problem, even when it is something as simple as a aftermarket battery. Oh well, what can u do about it.

It seems that the battery died. You could of left the dome lamp on, left the door open just a crack, or have a draw, all of which will drain your battery within three days. Have a professional check it out. Oh yeah- your Lexus is probably worth more than any domestic sedan that is five years newer.
