Any Lexus will cost a fortune to fix, even ones from 1990. And, you may have trouble finding parts for a car that old. Even though its a Lexus, l think almost $5,000 is a lot to ask for an 18-year old car. I'd stay away.

The Lexus is a really nice and reliable car. It is kind of old though and you should find out whether its had any accidents. If it does break, it gets expensive. As a 17 year old myself, the Lexus is nice, but l would rather look for an ES300 for sportier driving, but that is up to you. Overall, it is reliable.

that car is extremely well built and reliable but its 18 years old. there is ALOT of maintanance that will need to be done on it.. just because of age not because of the company is fault.. and yes Lexus costs ALOT to repair. take it from me man, l would not lie to you.

honestly man lexus is are dependable cars, but since your so young, and because gas in so high l would go for something like a tercel, civic, or somthing like that.. l know Iknow not cool cars but they are super dependable.and if you want something cool and sporty acura is are cool too...but a lexus is gonna cost a lot to maintain.

Nice, but it may cost you a lot to fix if there is anything wrong with it. 85K miles. so you know you're probably gonna have to fix some stuff up eventually.

There are much worse cars you could buy for $5000. The mileage is not too bad for a 1990. Repair costs are very high on that car, but the LS400 has always been rated as very reliable. It is big and safe, but gas mileage is not the best.

Overall it is a car that most 17 year olds could be proud of. l wish that could have been my first car!

Lexus is a great car but not for a teenager. First its a V8 so you will be putting alot of money into the gas tank. Second as a former Lexus owner they are EXSPENSIVE to insure. My first car was a 99 ES300 so trust me l know.

You cant go wrong buying a Lexus, but you really need to take someone with you who knows about cars or you could just be throwing your money away.

No, bad bad bad bad bad! THAT is a ripoff to the last degree. He/she should be paying you to take a car like that. If it breaks down, you will pay thousands to fix it.

Sounds like a lot of money. Yes they are reliable, but think of the thirst. Has it had the cam belt changed at 60k miles? Those things break and trash the engine if not maintained. You may end up impressing your friends with the size of your repair bills on this one. Contains gazillions of parts, most not cheap. Not a DIY repair either.

l would not buy it, too old, too many miles & is not cheap to repair either. If u know how to work on cars, buy whatever u please, if u depend on a mechanic, not a good choice. No a good 1st time on a budget car. There is not such thing as Affordable Luxury, so u will impress more ur friends with a car that runs that one that will break ur wallet on parts alone. Shop around for some else that is cheaper to maintain, repair & insure.

BTW, the rims does not goes with the car, poor choice on them & that tells me an old lady did not drove it neither. So l would be expecting even less from it.

Whatever is ur choice, good luck with it.

My first car was a LS400, l loved it. Very dependable car. 80,000 miles for a Lexus is nothing. l say if your renst like it for you, get it.

well, for 4,799 even though it is a good deal, l would stay away. lexuses from the 1990 is tend to break down quite a lot, and the money to repair it costs a fortune. l think that buying a civic, accord, or mustang might be a lot better choice than a 1990 lexus ls400. l mean the car is about as old as you!

it a really great deal trust me l own a lexus but one thing it cost so much money to fix if u ever need repairs done on it l drove my car three years and then put breaks and other things more like 4 thouhsand dollar on it
cost but l love my car if it takes another 3 year for another 4 gz it fine with me

It is a really great car to tell ur kids was ur first; & is really reliable. l love the black rims & tint; was it a drug dealer is car? Is the photo from an impound lot? Just teasing! If the car has not been tweaked more than cosmetically, you're good for another 100K miles, plus more. Any Toyota dealer can work on it, but it should not give u much if any problems. See if the guy has service records; at 85K it might be due for one of the ''BIG'' tune ups which will cost a grand, but honestly, this rig will see u thru college & more. Really great car. My wife has a 2001 300 ES & has had nothing but a remote control battery problem. Do this; it is a classic; truly. Take it to a dealer (Lexus or Toyota) spend a couple bucks to have it on a lift & check it out. It could be a great buy. Best wishes.
