i lost my last copy of my lexus key(2000 es300) what all do i need replaced?and how much?

If u can live without the remote on the head of ur key or the remote on ur key chain (Do not know which yours has, some ES300 is have the remote on the key & some on the key chain) u will save big bucks. At ur lexus dealer or a locksmith u can get a key that does not have the remote but will still turn the door locks & the ignition (For if u have the remote head key but will also work if u have the key chain remote). Keep in mind that 2000 ES300 Keys have a computer chip in the head of the key & it will cost a lot for the programming of that chip. Dealers or locksmiths can however program a key to ur car without a key present (This will cost u too) Hope this helps!

l lost the key to my cadillac. The key alone was about 65 dollars, and they had to flash it to the car to set the chip, another fifty. Then l had to buy a new fob, too. Over 200 all told. l think Lexus is worse.

If you lost all your master keys your pretty much screwed. You will have to have the car towed to a Lexus dealer to have the computer replaced. That year car you can not reflash the computer if you lost all your master keys. Lexus will pay for the computer (around $1200) but you will have to buy 2 master keys which are about $250 each.
