l am planning to buy a Lexus, yet l notice Lexus cars look almost identical to Toyota cars, l assume they just crossover the car, do a few touchups to the grille and lights and re-badge it.

Are there any major differences to the engine or interior of the Lexus that justify the x2 price increase to its Toyota counterpart?

price to buy and to fix, other than that NO WAY!

Lexus is just another marketing strategy from Toyota to target the higher income customers.

You pay more mostly for the brand. Most Lexus models cannot be found on the Toyota range, like the GS & the new IS models. The engine & power is much bigger & smooth than Toyota makes.

If u plan to spend the money on the Lexus, why not get a German car like the BMW & Audi? Afterall, Lexus cars r targeted to compete with German automobile manufacturers anyway. And honestly, l prefer German engineering.

Lexus are made in a totally different quality control level from Toyota. They are not re-badged Toyota vehicles.

Interior is also much more luxurious.

Lexus is actually made by Toyota and the cars are 90 percent the same besides the grill, lights, etc. You can literally replace the parts of either 1 with the other and your car will run just as good

There r many similarities but the cars r in no way the same. Lexus uses hi performance heads that have better power . they use 93 octane too. The Ls is one of the best cars made, & a better deal than a MB Sclass, or BMW7series, With better service records. If u r looking for luxury lexus is becoming the pinnacle of the market. If u want a ES, just buy a camry, other than that the GS is on the Avalon frame but rear wheel drive, IS is a lexus only body & a rear wheel drive. RX has a lexus only frame, LS is lexus only as well. German engineering is over rated, the Japanese know how to build a car & it has been made very apparent.

yea that is pretty much it & the price. but if u pull up in a toyota corolla, that is fine. but if u pull in up in a lexus IS250..it is another story. besides the more luxurious inside, speed, handling & just plain awesomeness...then l guess u can say they're the same.

but . the best part is since it is made by toyota & the small stuff that may get worn out & broken here & there from use & abuse u can get it from the toyota dealership & pay less. if u go with bmw or mercedes or whatever, besides the fact that its not an asian car meaning is not not gonna last as long, the parts r going to very expensive.

It depends on the model. Some Lexus vehicles share platforms with Toyota vehicles and on those, the differences are mainly cosmetic (badging, grill, interior materials). Mechanically, they're usually identical.

There are some Lexus vehicles that are unique and do not have a Toyota counterpart.

l do not know why people still think Lexus' r just upscale Toyotas. So u guys must feel that Audis r just upscale Volkswagen, Lincolns r Ford Taurus' in disguise. The Cadillac CTS is really a Malibu or something.

If this is what u think, then go buy ur Accords, Camrys, Malibus, & Taurus & do not even think about the upscale market vehicles. l know this sounds harsh, but if u do not see the value in a something, then do not buy it.

l own two Lexus vehicles, the RX & LS. There is no comparison in Toyota for the LS, but the RX is mechanically the Highlander. The Highlander is nowhere even close to the fit-n-finish, anemities, or quietness of the RX.

Toyota & Lexus r sister companies. Lexus being Cinderella. while Toyota being Belle. Belle is pretty, but she is no Cinderella. :)

in many countries around the world there is no lexus just toyota. lexus is just a uscale toyota . l come from a small island in the caribbean and the only lexus we have are the ones that are being shipped from the us. in my country my cousin purchased a toyota altezza which is called the lexus IS
