I lost my 1996 lexus es 300 keys and remote.How do I get a new key and remote?

If you have a friend or another car, head over to your Lexus dealer, you're bound to get a new pair there. =P

Go to your nearest Lexus dealer and pay for a set.

Call your local dealer. You will need the vehicle VIN number and proof of ownership.

Buy a blank key and a key fob from ebay for cheap. have the key cut by a capable locksmith. The instructions for programming are on the net at the lexus forums. It is a bit complicated. Make sure the key fob is for your year. It can be a used one. Do not waste your money at the dealership. They will lie and tell you you have to use their equipment to program your key. Not true!

If u have lost ur keys, & if u do not have access to another car u can call up ur local dealership & let them know the problem. Some dealerships may be able to send someone over to give u a new key, but most often u will have to actually go to the dealership so that they can program it. If that is the case the dealership will figure out a way to get u & ur car there.

There is only one way to really solve the promblem, & it is to call the dealership. Lexus dealerships r great with servicing their customers so they will help u solve the problem quickly.

You will need to buy the key at the lexus dealership but l would get the remote off ebay or craigs list it will be alot cheaper buy a spare too
