They used to be considered so. At least the Roadhogs (Roadmaster model) back in the 50 is and 60 is were. But they've downsized so much that l do not know if they are anymore or not.

Buicks are luxury like Paris Hilton is classy. it all depends on how you see things.

The first guy is basically right. Back in the 50's, when General Motors had a monopoly on the american car industry, one used to buy a Chevrolet as an ''okay'' car, a Buick was entry-level ''premium & a Cadillac was simply a statement of gross wealth. Ask any old person, it was ingrained into American culture at the time. There was a General Motors car for anyone & everyone.

A helluva lot has changed, & Buick, chasing larger sales, has lowered it is prices & quality of product over the decades, & sadly, is now on the same level as any Pontiac, Chevy, Ford, etc.

See the picture on the site below to see what l mean. They were grand old cars - some call it ''American Excess but u could not find more beautiful cars anywhere else in the world at the time.

it is considered a luxury brand yes, however; it does not compete with most other luxury brands such as mercedes, bmw, lexus, even though the brand thinks it does. the only acception is maybe l cadillac, but l would choose that over a buick.
