Trying to decide between the two vehicles. Wife loves the lexus obviously; however, we need space for big luggage andpotentially 6 passengers (for long cross-country trips). Would a Sienna be a better (albeit boring) alternative on the space front, or are the spaces comparable even with all 3 rows of seats being used?We need AWD/4WD since we will be primarily using in heavy snow country (hence not considering the Odyssey).Looked at the Highlander but did not like it very much (threw that hybrid out of the mix too, unfortunately).

Neither both are pieces of crap. If you're looking for a van Nisan Quest if you're looking for a SUV too carry children around a Volvo XC90 with the v-8 engine.

I, personally, would buy the Sienna. The GX470 is a spectacular SUV. Full time 4 wheel drive, unbelievable interior, but the 3rd row stinks. It is not comfortable. l have 5 children ages 16 to 2. l would opt for the Sienna for comfort, convenience, gas milage,and the AWD. l am sure your wife doesnt want to be labeled as a soccer mom, but the Sienna is a great Van

get a navigator-way nicer than the gx

l think the Sienna would be the better choice. Even though the Lexus is more upscale and classy with a very good AWD, the rear seats are not very comfortable for long trips. The Sienna would be better for this.
