Looking for a website or pricing on replacing headlight covers for 1997 lexus sc 400 due to oxidation. l just need the clear plastic cover that goes over the headlight, not the entire headlight unit. Is this possible or do you have to replace the entire headlight unit? l got an answer that somebody went to the dealership to replace. How much did they charge if you dont mind me asking?

You might be able to remove the oxidation with some rubbing compound.

you usually do not have to replace the whole headlamp unit. to save you alot of time and money just buff your headlights might as well rebuff your whole vehicle. it is probably the price of a new headlamp unit for a lexus. or you could buff your headlights yourself go to any autoparts store and i'm sure they have kit is to buff your car. when your finished it is good as new this also works on cd is and dvd is saved tons of them this way.

Go to E=Bay and look or go to Toyota or Lexus. They are financially mis-understood as far as price. Their knowledge and usually lower prices are priceless. Other garages get parts from Toyota/Lexus and mark up again ,plus they take longer to fix due to not as much knowledge as a certified Lexus tech.Price is probably 65.00 each and 1 hour labor so 230.00

Try ebay. l had the same problem with my VW headlight and got a replacement light through ebay. Once in 5 months l found a private seller with a good deal but l missed it. l ended up paying about $90 which is better than the prices from other autopart web sites.
