do the lexus suv is have lots of problems? are they hard to repair? maintain? can someone give me some advice l am thinking about purchasing a 2000 with 72,000 miles? thanks

Lexus has sat at the top of all reliability surveys in the last 10 years, so l would think you will have less problems than with any other make. Maintenance is no more expensive than any other make. Buying a any used vehicle you have to make sure it was properly cared for and maintained.

Lexus SUVs r all on the list of the most reliable luxury vehicles. They r not hard to repair (if u even need to) & maintenance is not difficult either. Whether u do it yourself or not, it is easy. And since Lexus is a division of Toyota, if u want to take it into the shop to get maintenance done, u can take it to the Toyota dealership instead of the Lexus dealership. It comes in handy for me because my Lexus dealership is 125 miles away & my Toyota dealership is 10 miles away. Most other luxury brands do not do that. Yeah, the best luxury SUVs r from Lexus. And that one u were talking about seems to have reasonable miles on it for it is age. l say go for it, if it is what u want.

No different than a Toyota. A 2000 Lex like that you can take to a local (good) mechanic and he should be able to take care of you no problem. My Brother has 2005 LX470 and that is what he does. l mean some parts because of the name of course you are going to pay more for but most part are just like a Toyota

Do not listen to people who say that they are hard to maintain. Lexus has been #1 for about 13 years or so. That does not come easy. l have a lexus landcruiser that can take abuse but not a peep comes out of it. Of course, if the car was in an accident, no matter what brand car it is, it might give you problems.

They are generally very reliable but each have their known problems. They are pretty much toyotas at a premium prices.

LX470 = Landcruiser
RX330 = Highlander
GX430 = 4Runner

most parts can be gotten from your local toyota dealer and can be service by them too at toyota prices. You wo not get a free loner car or car wash.
