No. lexus (lexi?) are the most reliable cars on the planet. Itll still be good for a long while with regular maitenance.

if you figure 20k per year l would think this car is a good deal.or else the speedo has been turned.

these days 135k is just getting broke in. as long as the car is in good condition, mileage doesnt mean that much.

As long as the price reflects the miles I'd buy it. There is lots of life left in that car. To a person not in the business you should go to EDMONDS.COM and look at the wholesale value and deduct 50%.

Absolutely not. I've known people to put well over 200,000 miles on a Lexus. If you're looking to buy it, just make sure the seller has kept the car regularly maintained and has the records. No matter how good a car inherently is, if it is not properly maintained, it is not worth anything.

A Lexus ES300 is a pretty reliable car. If the owner took car of the car, it could easily go 200,000+ miles. l know someone that has a 1990 ES250 with 200,000+ miles on it. A 1999 Lexus is nine years newer & a lot of improvement has gone underway in those nine years. l am not suprised if it could go 300,000 miles.

The Lexus ES 300 is an excellent car. We owned a 1994 ES 300 & drove it 236,000 miles, before it was totalled (some guy ran a red light & hit our car).

The 1999 is the third generation ES (ES250 1st, ES300 to 1996 is 2nd & 1997 to 2001 is 3rd). The Lexus cut some corners going from gen 2 to gen 3, so there r some things that u may have issues with. My sister has a 1997 that needed some work right before 100,000. Since then it has been good, but lately she is having problems with the alarm system. My mom has a 1998, but she has very low miles on her car.

Here r the most important things to look at when purchasing ur car.
1. How is the condition of the car. Make sure there r no funny squeaks or rattles.
2. Make sure the car has not been in an accident. These cars have a lot of electronics on board that start having trouble after an accident.
3. Make sure the maintenance has been done in a timely manner.
4. Make sure the last owner was not a short term owner. If so, he may have found some issues & then decided to dump the car before it got expensive.
5. Make sure the car does not burn blue at start up, it idles smoothly (both hot & cold) & the check engine light works, but is off.
6. Look for signs of abuse (broken plastic, tires worn on edges, etc).

If all is good, then l think its an excellent choice. Just make sure you're paying a fair price for the car.

Bring it to the lexus dealer for an inspection and tell them to print you out a service report as they have it for the entire life of the car and look for anything really bad or many warranty repairs

Lexi is are amazing! You still have to find a good example of one though. (A car that is been cared for). Having the car checked out by a neutral third party is still a great idea. l bought a 97 ES300 two years ago with 155,000. It has 175K now and l have not had to do anything to it except replacing the wiper blades and l added one one of those little pine tree air freshener thingys.

Its a good deal if you take 15k times 8 years it comes out to 120k which isnt bad. There is lots of life left in that car.
