The light comes on and off and now it will not come on at all. Every now and then the fuel gage needle light comes on and then it goes out. What causes this?

Intermittant wiring connection to the dash or a bad ground from the dash.

This is a common Lexus problem, and it means that the light is in the first stages of failure. l have been to the mat with Lexus about this, and what they want to do is sell you a new instrument cluster (around $1000). That is why there are people selling them on ebay, but my 95 had the same problem.
