is the lexus rx300 any good

Sure if you do not mind overpaying.. l own a repair shop,
work on them, they are over hyped and overpriced. Unless
you want it a Status Symbol.

It is a solid and competent 4x4 with a good level of equipment as standard and reasonable residual values. Lexus are also top of the JD Power listings for quality and service.

The similarly-priced Land Rover Discovery is better off-road and comes out top in most reviews of large 4x4s.

yes it is a good car and you can get a good price on them used now the 99- 2003 models have near perfect reliability ratings by consumer reports. a well maintained used rx300 will hold up better and have less issued than many brand new models do for a much lower price. you can purchase a 99 or 2000 rx300 with about 70K for $15K and will have many years of trouble free driving.

The only real problems with them are that the motors sludge up which wont happen if you change your oil at the recomened times and use synthic oil. Other than that they are great and get pretty good gas milage. if your looking to buy a used one take it to a lexus dealer and have the check for sludge.

Its over priced, slow, and completely isolated from any driving feeling. Its reliable, looks ok, has a nice interior though.
