My friend recently aquired a Lexus LS 400 second-hand, and it ran silently for a couple of days, but now makes some rather strange noises when cornering at low speeds. l can only guess that it sounds as though either the brakes are binding, or there is a problem with the power steering, although l have not felt any difference. If anyone has had similar trouble, or can maybe indicate towards the problem, it would be much appreciated. It is a L reg

with out some kind of description of the noise it is kinda hard to say what it could be but if your hearing a clicking noise it is probably a constant velocity shaft (CV shaft) Could be the belt tensioner so belt slips on the power steering pump at low or idol speeds. Could be missing brake pad hardware on brake pads(shims that go on top bottom and back of pads to keep vibration down) vibration is what causes squeaks and rubbing noises. hard to say.

l own a shop, & have seen this. If u will take a look at the inside of the tires, u will see a groove being worn in the tires. This is caused by the wrong tires put on the vehicle. l will bet it has taller than normal rims, & low profile tires. The ball joint stud nut is hitting the tire in corners. The solution is to purchase a kit to move the ball joints up, & away from the wheels. You must change the ball joints out for new ones that r designed to move more to make up for the difference. You can have it fixed for about $400 & the kit will put the alignment back to the proper angle.

sounds like control arm bushings or strut bearing plates also check the cv joint boots
