You think there fast??????? l think there slow.

they are not fast compared to other German imports. they are boring to drive l have one 99 ES300. My mom is Mercedes E350 could rip it apart.

As l can clearly see by others, few know what a Lexus is, till one has owned one.

Buddy of mine, talked him into a 98' SC400. At first he was impressed, but even today, 6 months later, he still comes back with '' wow, l can not believe that car could do this, or that, etc ''. He is still learning how well the car is.

Lexus name stands for something

L - Luxury
E - Exotic
X - + sign knocked over by
U - Unreal
S - Speed

Sure a Lexus is no Mustang GT for it is not a cheap box of parts that can only do fast time off the line. Anyone can build that all day long. Takes an expert to make something luxury, exotic & fast, something few can master or have.

Compare the stats of a 99' Lexus GS430 next to a 99' Chevy Camaro Z28 w/ the Corvette package. The GS430 wins in about every catagory but cup holders. Yet few realize this as Lexus is not a drag out type of car like a Chevy Camaro is.

But put both on the road side by side, sure, the Camaro will be first at first, but by 50mph, that Lexus is hit its torque band, where the Chevy is already into theirs. By 75mph the Chevy is staring at the tail of the Lexus. By 140mph the Lexus is just pulling away to say goodnight as the Chevy wonders why it has no power. By 150mph the Lexus is just gone.

Few realize this power or have knowledge of what a Lexus can do as few have driven them to this extent. For one, most r older & do not care to drive this way. And two, the few men that do push them, r not 19 yr olds how have to run around say '' guess what l did ''. So few hear of what they can do.

l myself worked for Lexus, have touched Lexus for over 10 yrs, & have driven every model they have countless times & tested each to their limits. And l must say, few can touch what a Lexus can do. And this comes from a person who has driven Porsche, Lotus, Jaguar, name it, I've driven it.

Give me a Lexus GS & a Porsche 911 & one twisty road, the Lexus will win, few realize that.

Lexus has started a new revolution in their vehicles by giving them more power. The first decade of Lexus, their primary goal was luxury. Now, they've mastered that and have moved on to performance. For example, the LS 460 has 380 horsepower, the IS 350 has 306 horsepower, the LS 600h has a hybrid engine comparable to a V12, and the upcoming IS-F will have a V8 with 400+ horsepower.

They have DOHC engines and there building and selection for perfect fitting parts is off the wall. l have a 01 RX300 and a 06 RX350 and l think there rockets! l kicked butt when l raced of the line with a Infiniti FX. There engines are tuned to give you a High Revving drive, hence the higher the revv the more HP..

The newest Lexus is the LS600hL which has 430 horsepower & is a hybrid. It can self park, has a shiatsu messager & ottoman & too muck to list. It also has two cameras on the front & a camera facing the driver. If the car sees a metal, animal, or human obstacle in front & sees that the driver is not facing foward, it can turn on its warning lights & alert your. If the onboard computer calculates that the accident is imminent, it retracts the seatbelts to bring teh passengers & drivers to a best position, extend its headrests & apply as much as 40% of the maximum brake force automatically. It is first to have LED headlights ( four projection beams on each side on the headlamps), & finally, it is a SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle), 70% cleaner than its V12 competitors.

Lexus is also coming out with the new LX570 which has 380+ horspower & 401 lb ft of torque. There is also the M3 competitor thats coming out soon, the IS-F with a 5.0 V-8 engine, 350 lb ft torque, 400horsepower, 0-60 in less than five seconds, Brembo Brakes, & 19'' stock rims. All the above have their own unique tech features too long to list here. Other than the LS600hL which is a SULEV, the other two r ULEV I l (Ultra low emissions vehicle 2) & all have an eight speed automatic transmission. That is right EIGHT speed. and have a closer look at the upcoming vehicles. Finally, if u do not thinks these cars r fast enough, look at the Lexus LF-A & search for images online. It has a V-10 engine, with 500+horsepower & the best thing about this car is the looks.
