aside from being an older car they look sharp. would t be a bad idea to get one? do they have alot of engine/car problems? l have seen one with 110k miles for 3500$

please only mechanics who have worked on these cars or people who have owned them

Trust me a personal experience

It is basically that they r older cars. They have not sold any of that body style in 10 years now so the cars r getting older & the mileages r getting higher.

The SC has a lot of parts that r interchangeable with the 93 & newer Supras & the SC300 basically has the non-turbo version of the Supra engine so parts r not terribly hard to find. Body parts especially headlights & front bumpers r tougher to find if u get the front end banged up, but they r out there.

They r definitely sporty looking cars & the engines & transmissions r pretty bullet proof. Some of the accessories have problems where they will fail or leak (AC compressor, power steering rack & pump) but by & large, they r pretty free of common problems.

A Lexus with only 110,000 miles is actually low. Many go to 200 if not 250,000 miles.

Buddy just bought a 98' SC400 with 98,000 miles and paid $7800 for it and is past in love.

$3500... l would make sure nothing is wrong with it for being so cheap or might be just a private owner who does not know any better.

They r cheap if they r beat up. l had a 95sc400 that l got in 03 with 98000 miles. l put a new timing belt on it just as a preventative. The car was totaled this past July with 148000 miles & l am still sad over the loss (some broad t-boned me). The power in the car especially over 60 was ridiculous. l got to 140 several times & the thing never ever ever broke a sweat doing it. In 3 years (besides tires & oil changes) l had one issue & that was a bad o-ring on the PS pump that was causing fluid to leak out. l was planning on keeping the car forever. Buy & treat right & u will not be disappointed. Yours may be so cheap if it is a 92 or 93. Look up the price of a 2000 SC400 & see what u find. 2000s r still in 10000-19000 range on eBay if they even have any.
