my lexus requires 93 octane gas but, the highest octane l can ever find is 91. does anyone know of any problems that using the 91 octane will incur?

91 should be fine. Sunoco has 93. They call it ''Ultra.''

Sounds like a typo. l do not know of any places selling that either. Try asking your dealer.

The only odd-numbered liquids l know of is dot-9 brake fluid, which is available from luxury car dealers.

However, l think you can boost the octane through gas additives, but why pay that much more for gas?

l see you do not pay attn to the other octanes. Most gas stations sell 93 octane
Besides using 91 is cheaper the 93 lol.. Ask a Mechanics if you are not sure lol

l have the same problem with my mazda rx8, it supposed to have 93 octane. l been using 91 for the past two years Ive owned the car and its running just fine. If your still concerned about this add some octane booster to your gas, they sell it at most gas stations.

No problem will occur. The only thing u ''might'' notice is a slight pinging under hard acceleration, but that is if u listen real carefully, u may even get that with 93oct. The best advice l can give you, coming from 25 years of SCCA racing & engine building, is ''do not use cheap gas & do not use ARCO gas.'' There, l have said it & l can back up my words if need be. Chevron Plus & Shell Plus r the two l would stick to, & be consistent with the brand and, if u can, the station u buy gas from. Happy motoring! By the way, nice car!

should not make any difference as virtually all modern cars have knock sensors which retard the timing when they sense preignition (knocking). I've put over 200,000 miles on two Lexus and have always used mid grade, not the premium ''recommended'' The only possible penalty might be very slightkly reduced performance when climbing a hill, pulling a trailer, etc (and l doubt you would pull a trailer w/ this car)
