l have a 2001 lexus rx300, that looks exactly like this:

http://canadiandriver.com/articles/jc/99-02rx300.htm

It had that same really cool metallic green tint, and you couldnt see into the rear windows. But 2 days ago, l went out to my car and my tint was just this light brown color, and l can see right through it. Im so sad, why did that happen?

l take good care of my car, and it looked amazing until this. Could a change in wheather cause this? l just cant believe it disapeared over night
yeah its factory tint, but we have had an extreme change in wheather here, it went from 91 durring the day, to 45 over night so thats why l wonder if it caused this?

yeah. if it gets really hot, it can damage tint. l would get the tinting redone.

Was is factory tinted windows or was it a film put on by someone? Factory tinted windows have the tint as a part of the window & it cannot be peeled off. Many people & dealerships will take their cars that do not have factory tinted windows & have someone apply window tint to them. This tint does not last forever. It will eventually change color. l have seen them turn purple, blue, yellow, & brown over time. It is usually not an overnight thing though. Takes a while for it to happen. Cheaper window tint will turn faster though.

Factory tints do not fade,it is in the glass. It sounds like you have cheap 'dyed' film. I've never heard of it happening overnight though. To my knowledge Lexus never offered metallic green glass on their options list.

it actually depends on the light source. if the car is in the sun, then the light usually shines on the window and it would reflect, thats how you could not see through the window, but if you are in the garage or indoors, then you would be able to see through it. try looking at the window outside in the street where there is light.
