l am looking for my first car and l like Lexus cars.l am not sure whether to get an old model Lexus ES (1991-1992)or the GS 300.If you have any advice, let me know.Perhaps a comparison between the two models.Thank you.

l would go with a 95' or newer ES if your budget is good for it. GS is going to be more money initially and maintenance/gas wise. ES is very good on gas but the older ones, 92-94 have several known problems with motor and trans. Even a 95' with 90K will be better off then the older ES or GS.

ES is a better first car, GS is better for the big boys.. choose wisely. visit club lexus, look around and l am sure you will make your decision after browsing.

the ES definitely, it is good for a beginner, l have not tried it so, l would not know, but the others although they look luxurious are kinda more difficult.

When the GS300 was first introduced it was comparatively more expensive to its rivals due to the exchange rate. These vehicles sold in less than expected quantities and getting parts from Lexus tends to be surprisingly expensive for this model. l work for Lexus and can not help but shake my head every time one of these comes in for service. Not one of Lexus' best cars. Avoid a luxury car as a first car. The repair costs tend to be extraordinary.

The first generation GS is a dog.. TOTAL DOG!!!!! You will hate owning it & the gas & maintenance will suck u dry, specially due to its year.

The ES is just a Camry so often the parts r cheaper & interchangeable. The ES has been spunky since the first generation, plenty comfy, smaller, easier on gas, etc.

l love my Lexus, just about any of them. but u could not give me a first generation GS. A stripped down Ford Focus would kick its backside in a race. & that is sad.

Now a ES is more powerful than most realize. Do a YouTube search cause there is a stock ES (think 95') going up against a VW Jetta V6 (believe a 99), the Lexus just eats the Jetta alive.

PS - if tuned up & all. just about any ES will easily do 140 mph. Newer ones can do more. Vids showing this as well.

get a lexus sc300.very fast and nice cars.it also has the supra engine in it.it is also very cheap.i got one with just the driver side door wrecked for $5000.i fix the door for about $200 used.
