On average single coat, 1 Gallon is plenty because the car is going to be air brushed. For some paints, you do not even need to clear coat.

l own a body shop and l would use half a gallon to paint a car along with some good quality reducer. if you know how to mix u should be able to get a good consistency that will give you two even coats. it really depends on the color as well though. do not expect a yellow car to look anywhere decent with just two coats. lol. half a gallon should be enough with your reducer, but if you are inexperienced or the color is not dark enough, go ahead and get 3 quarts.
