hi passer by .. l do not think it should make a diffrence as to what plugs you use. just stick with platinum it should be ok but one thing l you should look for is the spaceing or gapping on the plugs make sure that they are correct for your car . you should find this info in your car manual or also can buy the ones they sell for your make ,model and year (these will be pre gapped)

yes - for original type performance - you will need the O.E. type plug . that probably is kinda pricey - but hey this is a lexus .

no you can get any platinium plugs you can get the boush platinuim 2 and they would work fine but the best for toyota is and lexus is is either denso or NGK is good also but it NEEDS platinum plugs

Lexus recommends those type of spark plugs, but if you opt for a much cheaper plugs, perhaps performance and fuel economy will suffer. There is a chart for cross-reference that list specific type of spark plugs for IS300. It is your choice and happy motoring!!

r u sure those were original NGK plugs? must be some cheap replicas because NGK cost about the same as denso & r oem equipement on toyotas.

But to answer the question, no u do not NEED iridium plugs, l would highly suggest them because u can easily get 100k miles out of them, but platinum plugs only last around 60k. Should not be a problem what type of plugs u get, but make sure they r the right application with the right gap spacing, last thing u wanna do is blow up the motor because u put in the wrong plugs.
