How do I override the Navigation System on my 2008 Lexus RX350

l know that there is a way to override older Nav Systems through a series of taps which get you into the diagnostic mode. From all the research I've done, this is not possible on the later model cars. From what l have found, the only way to ''fix'' the Nav System is to take apart the dash and cut some wires. Not something l wanna do myself!

I've seen a few similar questions posted here and a number ofsaying that people should contact their dealer. Save your dime! The dealership wo not do a thing!! Neither will they acknowledge the problem! In fact, there is a websitethat has been created specifically to address this problem:

http://lexusoverride.com/index.php.

Any help with this would be much appreciated!

Here is a link with video showing it, along with the instructions for the different years/makes of Toyota Lexus to access the Service Menu (where the DVD Override option is located)

Hope this helps

The best override, is the off switch and an atlas. l am not sure why you want to override, but l feel that the Nav systems are just another gadget to take the driver is mind off what he is supposed to be doing. If there is no off switch, then cover the screen with cardboard.

Do you want to diagnose your vehicle? Take it to the dealer, that is why you pay hard cash for it. If you just barely can afford the vehicle, why have it in the 1st place, right?

That is one of those numerous eye candies to lure people to buy these things. Is just a hyped up Toyota Rav4 with a shorter roof line. l would not worry about it, why would you?

l regularly visit Lexus forums and nobody has come up with an override for the 2008 models yet.
