l would like to compare these two cars,in the fields(but not limited to only those fields) of realibility,performance,and the cost to maintain....

Both are overpriced and overrated Nissan and Toyota. With BMW and Benz looks on them. Get a Nissan Murano is the same crap for less and a Toyota Rav4. Compare them, is the crap for more money.

l agree. If anything, get a Toyota Highlander or the Murano. But, if l really had to pick, I'd go with the Lexus, not only are they better built, but they come with status. Nobody says, ''Damn, you driving an Infiniti?'' Nobody.

wow no respect for the Infinity & Lexus although l tend to agree when it comes to engineering l think the Infinity FX is a nice looking cross over & the exhaust not is awesome. it will hands down beat the Lexus in the performance category as the Lexus has Lexus's(or Toyota's) trademark float down the road feel with no feed back & complete detachment. they r both very reliable but the Lexus may be slightly more reliable in the long run but unless u plan to drive the car into the ground u should not have major issue with either. As far as maintenance cost the Fx has a Total 5 year cost of ownership of $48,534 while the Lexus will cost only 41,033 but keep in mind the FX has the better owner satisfaction.

l have to agree with the other two entries. Two Ricers?

Lexus, being Japanese, got it is name from ''Luxus.'' That comes from the GERMAN term for luxury. If it is so great & prestigious, is that honestly the best name that they could come up with? Stealing from GERMAN. l find that a bit funny.

l would go with neither of the two, & go for an X3. You can get the big engine for around the same price, & u also get a BMW.

Ask any person who knows about cars (as l say that, l mean someone who know is REAL cars) & they will ALWAYS choose a BMW or Mercedes-Benz over a pair of tin ricers.

first off where did the ''ricer'' comment come from. you describe civic and low end sedans with that term. But personally l like the infinity much better than the lexus, on the other hand from personal experience lexus has very good customer support, but again l do not know how infinity is so its all up to you.

also to the person above me, yeah everyone who knows REAL cars knows that German parts are twice as expensive as American or Japanese parts.

l was faced with a similar decision about a year ago. Since u ask on certain fields, l will answer in that order. The Lexus is more reliable for sure. Performance-wise, the Infiniti is better in power, handling, braking, etc. The maintainence cost is lower with the Lexus, due to the better MPG, better reliability, etc. Overall, this whole think will be ur decision, not mine. The Lexus is the epitome of comfort, luxury, & wealth. The technology in the Lexus is also superior. However, Infiniti will provide with the sporty ride, the high-revving engine, & the ''dang.that looks nice''. Well, l wo not tell u which to pick, but, use this as a guide for what u want. Good luck choosing.

very different type cars. the Infiniti fx is a cross between a SUV & a sports car. Its lighting quick ( l have one got my first ticket last Saturday :) ) it handles like a sports car & has a tight interior, firmer ride, & requires the drivers attention. Think of it as a Nissan 350z with a backpack. IT DRIVES NOTHING LIKE A MURANO. The murano is front wheel bias & based on the altima- the FX is rear wheel bias & based around the 350z & G35 platform. There sisters but not twins !!! Anyone who is driving both of them - even if u a novice drive- will notice the difference.

The Lexus is much more of a luxury sedan type SUV. the ride is much softer, quieter, & more subdued ( best friend owns one ). l own the FX but l think as far as pure LUXURY cars , Lexus is a winner.

In the end, If u a want a SUV that handles & behaves like a sports sedan/car - get the FX. If u want a SUV that is more luxury sedan based get the Lexus. ( Infiniti Japanese answer to BMW - Lexus answer to Mercedes Benz ). Either way ur winning.

l can not say l know a whole lot about cars, but l know Lexus makes very nice, comfortable, and reliable cars. However, in this case, it depends on whether you want something more sporty. Infiniti is awesome too. Both are a good choice. l would usually choose the Lexus, but in this case, l would choose the Fx. Its sportier and a lot more fun to drive.
