there is a button l can turn on and over. it says ''Ect'' and ''Pwr'' on my lexus

l have the same thing on my Toyota 4Runner. l have pushed it and l did not see any difference. The owners manual says it gives you an extra boost of power when needed. l guess when you get ready to pass another vehicle you can push it for more power.

It may just be there to ''fill the hole''. Since dashboards are laid out at the factory to a perscribed pattern, and wiring looms are wired for some power items that you might not have, - it may be wired up too, - but hooked to nothing!

the button is linked to the transmission control and changes the shuft points on the transmission th let the engine rev more for power or shift at lower rpm for economy

+1 .its just to change the transmission shift points and firm up shifting.

Most of those ''power'' buttons just keep the transmission in a lower gear longer so that it upshifts slower and thus gives you ''more power.'' Unless you GAS IT, you wo not notice anything in those modes.

that button changes the shift points and the how quickly the trans switchs gears, PWR is the higher preformance choice..

it helps give for pwr to the trans when you need it.
