Why would anyone buy a lexus when it's just an expensive toyota??

because the emblem at the front, the steering wheel and the back is different from toyota

Because it is a status symbol..nothing more..

Lexus is are luxury cars. Toyata does not make luxury cars.

Because they look nicer than Toyotas

For the same reason people buy a Mercedes over a Honda, and the same reason people buy Armani instead of Wal-Mart. Or a Tag Huer over a Casio watch.

Show me the Toyota version of the Lexus LS430, GS430, SC430, IS350.

The only Lexus that is a Toyota at times is the ES350 which during some model years shared the same platform as the Toyota Camry. Plus when Lexus has tried out new vehicles, like the LX470.it came out as a dressed up Land Cruiser & was called the LX450. Was a test vehicle to see if a market was there. Once the market was realized the SUV was totally redesigned by Lexus only.

Lexus is its own company & does its own building, designing, etc.

Why buy Acura? Just a Honda. Why buy Infiniti? Just a Nissan. Why buy Cadillac or Corvette? Just a GM.

Good question. Why would anyone buy a Cadillac when it is just an expensive Pontiac? Or a Chrysler when it is just an expensive Dodge? Or a Lincoln when it is just an expensive Ford?

If u want a luxury car u would choose a luxury vehicle & if u want the prestige of a luxury nameplate u would choose a luxury nameplate.

That is basically why. A Lexus is a little bigger & heavier, & has a somewhat better ride & a few more amenities. If a Camry will make u happy, however, & u do not care about the nameplate, then u can save a few bucks & buy a Camry.

It all depends on what floats ur boat.

Did you know that in Japan - they are all called Toyota? No stigma attached to the badge over there, so they did not feel the need to rebadge them as Lexus. Same goes for Honda and Nissan - where they might be rebadged in other countries but not in Japan.

Have u ever been in both? l have. Let me tell u, there is a huge difference. Lexus' have leather instead of cloth, even though u can get a Lexus with cloth, very rare though. Can u get a Toyota with massaging back seats, or rear seat heaters/coolers? Does toyota have wood all over the car. Not to mention the suspension & steering. How about this one, do they have a car that can parallel park itself? All this technology cost money, it does not come for free. There is also radar cruise, which slows ur car for u when u r coming up to something. l am done.

l kno toyota makes lexus, but lexus is the luxury branch of toyota, cuz toyota doesnt make ''real'' luxury vehicles. l agree tht some lexus cars look similar to the toyota ones, but so do honda-acura cars and nissan-infiniti cars. its not the outside tht counts, if your a real car person, its all abt the inside. im out

We've owned two Toyotas (Camry and Sienna) and a Lexus (LS400). There is a big difference between a luxury car and a regular car. My old Lexus is so much nicer than a lot of new cars. Once it comes down to replacing our Lexus, it will be a very hard decision as to what to get. If it makes you happy, we will never get another Lexus. It is because they cost too much and it costs too much to maintain them. Repairs are outrageous.
