haha, l think it is pretty cool. A neat little feature. Kind of ridiculous in the same way.more of a luxury than a necessity definitely.

I've read that it is kind of slow to use, and parks you a little too far away from the curb.

That feature is so freakin' awesome! l could hardly believe my eyes when l saw it in action. l think I'd have a hard time trusting it at first, though. I'd have to test it myself an awful lot at the dealership before buying in order to truly be able to use it without being paranoid it would fail and break someone else is car at my expense.

Looks nice, but come on. It is on your drivers exam so you should know how to do it. If you can not parallel park, l do not wanna be on the road with you..hahah. l also think there is more to it than that. l think the driver still has to control speed and braking. It just takes over the hard steering. Lazy with a capital Pathetic

Waste of time and money, but it is ok for one ups on someone you want to impress. l saw it on tv, so it l s true. l want one that has little wheels that drop down and go sideways and do not take any xtra room.

Technically, an interesting feature that may have a limited USABLE value. Parallel parking may be a lost ART, but in many places l have lived over the last 35-40 years there r getting to be fewer & fewer parallel parking space opportunities! l can count the number of opportunities this year as ONE! That being said, the luxury car market competes on developing new brand features to one-up the competition & be first to market. So Lexus is first to market on this one, but they also r the first with an 8 speed automatic transmission which exfectively fits the same space as their old 6 speed. Which feature with u u USE the most, the 8 speed ot the PP feature?
So, simply this is more marketing driven first on the block feature.

Cool idea.but if you really need to use it then you probably should not be driving.
they need to invent something useful.like a switch that automatically turns off blinkers off of after five miles

This car is so sweet. My folks have one on order because we're waiting on the LS460 L but l got a chance to try the self park on the regular wheelbase. It is a bit scary but l bet after a few uses, it will be fine. The wheel takes over but you still have to use your own judgement when pulling in. It is going to cost tremendously though like the headlights that swivel if they break. But, it is a LEXUS so we expect no problems.

We just test drove the car yesterday. It does take a little longer than l would like to complete the park but it does park it great. It does not park u too far away. it leaves u 5 to 7 inches from a curb. Only problem would be if there is something laying on the curb. l t could throw off it is calculations to guide it in. l think it is worth the money & will probably buy the car but not just for that feature. Lexus just makes a great car. l may be biased since l have owned 2 of them previously.

The LS is amazing! Wow! l had my doubts at first, as well, but l went to test drive one with my uncle (He can afford one; l can not! ~$70K) and we actually tested the parallel park feature.
I'lll definitely be borrowing his car if he decides to get one, 'cause my parallel parking SUCKS! =)
