l am experiencing a lot of detonation and do not wanna invest in a new egr valve.

l own a repair shop,and u cant by-pass it ,,i have tried it before,you might can take it off & clean it,,but if the diaphragm is busted in it,,its still going to give off a trouble code for it,,id just go by a good junk yard & see if they had a good one on a junk motor,,they might have one,and if not,,you,ll have to replace it sooner or later,,but do not try to by-pass it,,it will cause problems with the computer on it,,and u do not need this happening to it,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas

Your going to have to because your engine has to have it to maintain emission standards and compliance. l do not know what ''detonation'' you're experiencing if it is due to poor fuel then go to a higher octane rating or use a fuel boosting additive found at your local Auto Zone,NAPPA, WalMart,ect.ect.
