how do you get the timing of the window motor right?l have replaced it and it goes up then comes half way down!

ur window is in jam protection mode meaning that the motor thinks there is something in the way. u have to pull the motor out, take the cover off & pull the mechanism off. then connect the power wire,activate the window & watch the motor go through the cycle. Next use white out to mark any position on the motor & gear. Then rotate the gear to misalign the marks. Activate the motor again to see if the motor cycles normally.if so then roll the window all the way down & replace the mechanism
in the fully closed position (watch ur fingers). put the cover back on & that should do it. It takes a few times to get the timing right so plan on being there a while. It is probably best to let the dealership do it & spend a little unless u feel u can do it yourself good luck

l own a repair shop,and the last time l did one of these it did the same thing on it,,after l used it a few times it re-set its self,,i do not know how,,but l think it has to do with a sensor that controls the windows,,i was about to take it back out again,,but it just started working right on it the papers l got with the motor said it would do this,,yours may do the same thing also,, l removed the battery cable on mine because it sat over night in the shop,and l do not leave nothing hooked up,and the next day it worked right when l hooked the cable back up,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
