Im planning on buying a 2001 lexus IS 300, and it has about 100k miles on the meter. l will probly be paying it of for about 6 year. l do alot of driving. DO you think that this vehicle or any vehiclewould be able to last for about this long with high milage for maybe 4-5 or even 6 years?

First of all, in your situation l would advise you to lease. You will be driving a new car, and you may even be able to drive the same model, but new. Of course with leases you do have restrictions. Just a tip.

From my knowledge most cars last 250k-300k miles or more.

It depends on how well the person u r buying it from took care of it, if they changed the oil every 3000 miles, if they checked the plugs regularly, & basically took good care of it. If it looks like its been abused, do not count on it lasting a long long time (without putting some bucks into it). It also depends on how well u plan to take care of it, having it serviced regularly etc.

If u take good care of a car, it will last u a long time, far past 100000 miles. I've seen toyota pick up trucks that have been taken care of, & run perfectly, even with 250,000 miles on them. Then again, those r toyotas..

it depends on the car, the way you drive it and how you take care of it. l drove a 1992 Honda Accord 306,000 miles and it was still worth $2000.00 dollars. Under no circumstances do you lease. That is trap! Especially since you drive alot of miles.

l once came across a chevy s10 blazer with 900,000 miles! yeah sounds like a advertisement for chevrolet.. l am sure it required some parts to get it there though.

this is a good car. it comes w the 2jz-ge which is almost the same engine that they put in the 3rd gen N/A toyota supras. Toyota makes the longest lasting engines on the market so buy with confidence. They are also fun to mod up if your into that stuff.

Do not lease. if you are serious about this car, get a loan from the bank. this way when its paid off, you actually own the car. its great for your credit score too.

seen an old dodge truck with 900,000 on it so do not see why this one could not last as long just do the proper maintenance on it as needed

One thing for sure Toyota makes a good car , that who the Lexus 200.000 to 400.0000 miles easy.*

Lexus/Toyota 3.0 litter engine is one of the best in the world. you can get a lot of miles on that car. people around the world put on over 300000 miles on a Toyota let alone a Lexus. but then again, its also how lucky you get with this car and how well it was maintained and how well it will continue to get maintained. hope you're buying from your Lexus store, because you could pull its history from service department.

l drive a 2001 IS300, & while mine only has 45K miles on it, l know it is a great car. If the car has maintenance records with it l would not worry about it. l also have owned a 1995 Supra NA with the same motor. l had 100K on it when l got rid of it & it was still purring like new. My friend drove a GS300 (same motor) for 250K miles & it still drove like new. So if u know the car has been taken care of & u r going to take care of it as well, there is no reason it should not go well over 200K miles.

DO NOT LEASE IF YOU DRIVE ALOT! YOU WILL GET SCREWED.

Quick financial tip. Anyone buying a used car with 100K on the clock should either (A) - buy it outright or (B)take a short loan. By short loan l mean pay it off in a few months. Imagine if the car decides to crap out on u after the first six months. You probably will not be able to afford to fix it, then u will still have to pay the bank on the loan. Lets say u do not fix it for 5 months, & ur still paying. My advice do not buy it. If ur really hurting for a car u might want to shoot for something practical. Do not worry about what everyone else is driving & definitely do not fall in love with a car. It is a functional peace of equipment. When ur stable & can afford the car of ur dreams then fall in love with it. Right now it is clearly obvious that ur not financially stable to get this car. What kind of interest rate r we talking here? l think ur being screwed, walk away from this one & forget it.

Look at a new Toyota Yaris. It is a Toyota it will take a good beating for a long time, & u have a warranty all for under 13K. (Forget about keeping up with the Jones')
